What is a smile makeover?

A smile makeover uses a combination of cosmetic dentistry techniques to improve the aesthetic appearance of your teeth, gums, and mouth.

Before developing a custom treatment plan, Dr. Talerman takes several factors into consideration, including your facial appearance, skin tone, hair color, and tooth position.

He also asks you several questions, including:

  • What don’t you like about your teeth?
  • What do you like about your smile?
  • If there is one thing you could change about your smile, what would it be?
  • What is your biggest cosmetic concern?

After collecting all of this information, Dr. Talerman develops a care plan that aligns with your individual budget and desires.

What treatment techniques does a smile makeover include?

No two smile makeovers are exactly alike. Depending on your oral health history and goals for treatment, Dr. Talerman might recommend one or several of the following treatment techniques:

Dental implants

If you’re missing one, several, or all of your teeth, you might benefit from dental implants. Dental implants are small metal posts that serve as replacement tooth roots. They can support crowns, bridges, or implant-supported dentures.

Invisalign®

If you have crooked, crowded, or misaligned teeth, Dr. Talerman might recommend orthodontic treatment with Invisalign. Invisalign is an advanced treatment system that uses a series of clear, plastic aligners to gradually straighten and reposition your teeth.

Veneers

If you have unusually shaped teeth, or your teeth don’t respond to traditional teeth whitening treatments, you might benefit from veneers. Veneers are custom-crafted shells of porcelain or composite resin bonded to the front of your teeth. They’re shiny and white and restore balance and symmetry to your smile.

Teeth whitening

If you have yellow or discolored teeth, consider teeth whitening. Dr. Talerman offers both in-office laser teeth whitening and take-home teeth whitening trays. Teeth whitening treatment can eradicate years of stains, revealing a brilliant white smile underneath.

Periodontal treatment

If you have loose teeth or receding gums, you might benefit from periodontal treatment. Periodontal treatment can prevent further damage, preserving your jawbone and permanent teeth. Dr. Talerman offers several types of periodontal treatment, including scaling and root planing, Arestin® therapy, and periodontal splinting.

Is a smile makeover right for me?

Only a qualified dentist like Dr. Talerman can determine if a smile makeover is right for you. Following an oral exam, a review of your oral health history, and a discussion of your goals for treatment, he can make recommendations that align with your unique needs.
